Shoppers are asking ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI which product to buy. The answer usually names three or four. Here's how yours becomes one of them.
AI visibility for ecommerce is the work of getting your products named when shoppers ask AI tools what to buy. It also means making sure what AI says about them is right.

These three come up most for people who stand all day, based on reviews and buying guides.
Most store owners call all six of these "being indexed." They're not the same thing. A problem at any one of them stops everything after it.
AI can find your products at all.
Your product data is complete and correct: price, stock, sizes and materials.
Ask AI about your brand and it gets the details right.
AI names you even when the shopper doesn't.
When they ask it to pick one, it picks yours.
They click through and your product page closes the sale.
We find out which step you're stuck on first, then fix that before anything else.
There's no single AI shopping feed. Some tools pick up your store automatically, some need an application and one only reads Amazon. Here's how each one works today.
Shopify and Etsy catalogs are already connected. Other stores apply to share a product feed. It also reads product pages directly, so a store that blocks it can get skipped.
Stores join Perplexity's merchant program. We don't assume Shopify covers it on its own.
Free product listings through Merchant Center can show up in Gemini and AI Mode. This is the one where Shopify's catalog alone isn't enough. You also need Google's sales channel connected. Google says products aren't guaranteed to show.
Eligible Shopify stores are connected automatically. Checkout inside Copilot is switched on by default.
Same as Copilot: eligible Shopify stores are connected and in-app checkout is on by default.
Rufus only recommends products listed on Amazon. There's no separate feed. Your Amazon listing is what it reads.
Worth knowing if you're on Shopify: some of these connections may already be switched on in your admin, including checkout inside them. We check what's on and tell you what it means. You decide what stays on.
Checked September 2026. These change often, so we recheck every quarter.
Most guides treat these as the same. They're not. Knowing the difference saves you from paying for the wrong one.
AI names your product when a shopper asks. This is earned. It's what we focus on.
Several AI tools now sell ads, labeled separately from the answer. ChatGPT and Perplexity both say ads don't influence their organic results.
Some tools let shoppers buy without leaving. For eligible Shopify stores, several turn this on by default. For other stores it needs its own setup, which we quote separately.
Nobody publishes a ranking formula. But a few of them have said what helps. It's not what most vendors claim.
Richer data helps your products surface with more accurate information when shoppers compare options.
More likely to recommend merchants who provide deeper product details.
Your products aren't guaranteed to show across Google.
Complete, accurate product details help. Anyone who claims to know the exact formula beyond that is guessing.
Every ecommerce client starts with a channel check in the Plan, so you know exactly which doors are open before any work begins.
Which AI tools can see your products, what's switched on in your Shopify admin and whether anything is blocking AI from reading your store.
Complete, accurate and the same everywhere: titles, prices, stock, sizes and materials.
For the tools that need one, we prepare everything and you submit it from your own account.
Sizing, who it's for, how it compares and whether it's worth it.
The roundups and best-of lists that already show up in answers.
The rules change often. We recheck and tell you what's different.

“Seeing where we were being overlooked, and having a clear strategy to address those gaps, has been especially valuable for us as a small business.”

“When reviewing reports I could tell it wasn't just numbers on paper. There was an explanation, logic and questions where needed.”
If you sell through Shopify, ChatGPT says your catalog is already connected with no application needed. Shopping in ChatGPT is currently live in the U.S. We check whether your products actually show up.
OpenAI doesn't publish a formula. It says shopping research reads product pages directly, uses product data merchants share and avoids low-quality sites. It also says richer product data helps.
For Google's AI Mode and Gemini, yes, even on Shopify. Connect Google's sales channel with your products and shipping syncing. Listings are free, but Google says products aren't guaranteed to show.
Yes. Organic results are separate from ads. ChatGPT and Perplexity both say advertising doesn't influence what they recommend on their own.
Sometimes. ChatGPT currently sends shoppers to your site to buy. For eligible Shopify stores, Google, Copilot and Meta can switch on checkout inside their tools by default. We check what's on and you decide what stays on. For other stores, setting it up is a separate project we quote.
We work with Shopify stores today and quote other platforms case by case.
Milana asks ChatGPT and the other AI tools the questions your buyers ask, then records a personal video walking you through what came back.
